============
Installation
============

1. Unzip and copy the 'T-C-M' folder into your VST Plugins folder
2. Start your Host
3. Select T-C-M from the VST Instruments menu and route your data
4. Enjoy

Note 1: If your Host was already running, it must be closed and started
again!

Note 2: If 'T-C-M' is not successfully loaded from your host, close it,
delete the 'T-C-M' folder which is located alongside the 'T-C-M.dll' file
and try again.

Note 3: To load multiple instances inside your host you need to close it
first and rename copies of the plug-in 'dll' file like 'T-C-M_2.dll',
'T-C-M_3.dll' and so on (depending on system configuration, this might not
be needed but is advised to do it to prevent a crash).

================
Using Standalone
================

Hermann Seib SAVIHost is the choice for Trans Computer Maschine Standalone
use.

Use the included 'SAVIHost Cleaner.reg' to clean 'T-C-M' old version
registry entries for a fresh start!

============================
About Backward Compatibility
============================

Following v1.20 many issues were fixed to prevent crashing when loading
data from previous versions. However, some side-effects have to be noted as
follows:

- Sequencer rows negative values from v1.04 and earlier won't be loaded
correctly
- 'Lead', 'Portamento' and 'HPF' modes, 'L.F.', 'LPF Slope', 'HPF Freq' and
'Synth Ch. to Seq' settings from v1.20 and earlier might be changed or
ignored
- Loading native host projects containing old data will take longer to load

Note 1: A clean SAVIHost (SAVIHost Cleaner included in package) can be used
to load old versions VST presets or banks and save converted to current.

Note 2: We know about a 'Reaper' issue taking so long to load projects
using plug-ins with versions earlier than installed that you can go for a
cup of tea and save your updated project afterwards.

About Extreme Settings
======================

Because our software was designed to reach even unusual analog sound
sculpting territories, we must aware users that extreme settings should be
used carefully.
Depending on system, extreme tempo related settings might end with a
soft-crash while extreme modulation might end with a sound card hanging or
even a speaker damaging. Each user should learn how 'Trans Computer
Maschine' integrates with the system and how to use it safely.

=====================
About Global Settings
=====================

Global settings are settings the user change during a session but are not
included when saving, loading or changing presets. This was decided at
designing level for many practical reasons. The global settings are:

- MIDI Ch. Router settings
- Sync, Start, Stop and Cont(inue) Sequencer controls

==============
About Velocity
==============

There is not and there will not be MIDI velocity control in Trans Computer
Maschine as this feature might reflex the original character of the modeled
hardware.
